Planning Enforcement in the United Kingdom

The use of neighbouring land can have a huge impact on the value of a site, although in many cases a landowner has no directcontrol over its neighbours. The High Court has ruled that requirements imposed in planning agreements, such as developers'commitments to provide open space or community facilities, can be enforced only by the local planning authority, which will use itspowers to secure its planning objectives, not necessarily to protect the individual interests of neighbours.

Brokers file complaint and seek restraining order

Feb. 5--ST. THOMAS -- Two Realtors working in the office of St. Thomas real estate broker Rosemary Sauter filed a complaint against her and her company Thursday claiming she has taken escrow money and spent it for her sole benefit.

Realtors Jackie Marin and Marsha Maynes also are asking V.I. Superior Court to freeze Sauter's escrow accounts, which the suit.........
