Claims

The Fidelity National Title underwriters backing FNF Title International provide responsive support to customers initiating a claim. Claims are settled according to the conditions and stipulations of the title insurance policy, and paid within 30 days once the liability and extent of damage have been fixed, pursuant to the policy.

Claims Example

Fidelity National Title de Mexico issued a policy to a major retailer when purchasing a plot of land. The retailer planned to develop the property and instituted an aggressive construction timetable. During construction, the retailer learned that a portion of the property had been previously deeded to a government-owned utility. Although full due diligence was carried out, and a government-prepared “Certificate of No Liens” was obtained, the deed to the utility was not indicated or discovered by the retailer's counsel.  Fidelity’s Claims Department worked diligently with the retailer, the seller and the utility to resolve the matter. Critically, this prompt resolution of the claim helped the retailer open their store as scheduled, with all legal fees paid by Fidelity National Title de Mexico.
